From the Bridge on Oakland Ave., a view of Plej's, originally the Rock Hill Cotton Factory. It was the first mill built in Rock Hill. It was built not by one corporation or by one man but as a community effort. Almost every family living in the community at that time contributed money and time to see it built. It was put into operation in 1881. |
