Hickory Grove |
Hickory Grove - Organized in 1887, Hickory Grove is another town which grew up around the railroad. An orphanage operated here from 1897 until 1905. There is a large rambling hotel that offered nightly accommodations to weary train travelers across the street from the Leakey Boarding House where the school teachers were given comfortable accommodations. It would have been improper for them to stay at the Hotel. The Orphanage located on Chestnut and Main Street. Turn right on Main Street |
